rules
keep your feet ready, heartbeat steady, keep your eyes open
ONE First things first, respect is a big thing here. Treat others how you want to be treated, listen to the staff members when they correct you on something because they probably know what they're talking about, and if you have problems with other members, bring it to a staff member. If the issue is with a staff member, bring it to a different staff member. Do not bring it up in the boards or the chat box, please.
TWO We expect our members to be active. Accounts one week or older with no posts will be deleted indiscriminately. Activity checks will be held as needed to keep everyone active and if you are logging in but rarely posting and have not posted in the absence board to explain why, you will be messaged about it. If you do not reply within a week to that message, your account will be deleted. We aren't so mean as to delete your posts or hard work - that will get moved to the archives. Only wip applications will ever be deleted.
THREE We are a literate, intermediate to advanced site. As such, we expect posts to be correct in spelling and at least grammatically correct as far as Microsoft Word is concerned. We also have a word minimum of 100 words for in character posts. It isn't much, so please respect it.
FOUR We request that you keep all your characters on one account. We have provided a board specifically for you to place a little information about all your characters in one thread (or, should you purchase the option in the shop, one sub-board) so that it is all readily available without need for specific accounts for each and every character. Anyway, switching accounts is more work - why would we want to make this harder when the purpose is to have fun?
FIVE Anything above pg-13 is expected to fade to black. We understand that in real life there is guts and breeding and all that mature-rated stuff, but we don't want it here. Not only is it inconsiderate to our younger members, but it also violates Proboards Terms of Service and we can't have that.
SIX This is a basic rule for almost all roleplaying forums. You cannot powerplay - that is, control another person's character - nor can you godmod - you can't be invincible. It is unrealistic and, more to the point, it's rude to the people you are roleplaying with.
SEVEN Characters cannot be perfect, as no one is perfect. All characters must have some flaws with their good points, just like any normal person. Avoid mary sues and gary stus and we'll all be happy, not to mention it will keep your character interesting and provide ample room for character development.
EIGHT Images are not to exceed 500px in width, or else they will stretch the board. Images that stretch the board when put in blockquotes are expected to never be put in blockquotes. Avatars can be up to 100px wide and 200px high. We would appreciate all signatures to be no more than 300px high.
NINE We ask that all application and in character posts are written in third person. If something is a flashback in your character's head, it is acceptable to have that be in first person - but it has to be distinguishable from the rest of the post!
TEN As of this moment, we only accept horses, dogs and cats as characters. There are other options available for purchase in the shop if you feel like it, but for now that is all. We may add other species in the future. Should we add a species that was previously in the shop, all members who paid for the use of such a species will be reimbursed in full. As a special note, wolfdogs are purchase only. This means you cannot have a dog/wolf cross without purchasing it - and any breed with 'wolfdog' in the name is exactly that, so please avoid it unless you have purchased the option in the shop.
ELEVEN Also, it is important to mention the eye colors and coat colors. Stranger eye colors and coat tints are acceptable only in characters that are 4 years old or younger, as the virus was not around yet before then and it is the virus that has mutated the DNA to allow for this. Eye colors can be any solid color, though differing eye colors are only acceptable between eyes, not within a single eye. For example, one blue eye and one green eye are allowed, but rainbow eyes are a big no. Coat colors are tints, not actual different colors. Therefore, base colors are to be regular coat colors, and the tints come into play in certain lighting conditions. For example, you can have a black dog that looks blue-black in certain lighting, but you cannot have a dog that is actually blue.
If you are uncertain on if something is allowed, just ask - we won't bite! We'd much rather you shoot us off a message to ask and confirm than get it wrong and have to wait for us to recheck your application after you've fixed it.
