The floorboards creaked eerily underneath his weight, and Kage contemplated the high risk of falling through the frail boards down to the basement. He shrugged his broad shoulders and continued his travels, discovering the remenants of what was once a kitchen. He stuck his nose into a cupboard which had been slightly ajar and pried it open until he could clearly see the contents.
His ebony tail swept the dust-covered floor with disappointment as he found nothing but three old jars with their caps screwed on tightly and a block of some kind of substance he was unable to identify, but, judging from the ugly pale green mould crawling up the length of it, was most likely inedible.
Kage turned to check the next cupboard when the wood underneath his left forepaw caved and broke away, and nearly his entire leg was sucked into the hole. He had barely managed to catch himself before his chin had roughly met with the floor, and he continued, testing each step with care and caution, intent on finding food and exploring the ruins of homes.

She does, "she speaks" Sitka took her time padding through the area, her ears pricked and flicking at each and every sound. To say she was a bit on edge was an understatement. Around each corner she kept expecting to see the darkly handsome brute, the one who had not hours before tried to force himself upon her. She had fought back, scored his throat well, and now was on the run, hoping to find shelter, a place of rest, safety, some food, perhaps. The fae hadn’t stopped moving since her claws had bit into the male’s fur. Siti had no idea if he was alive or not and this actually did sadden her, on the account that he had been a friend from her show days, and when everything went down the drain, the loss of his career sent him careening down the path towards darkness. He was like an alcoholic; he was, only he got drunk off of sleeping with the ladies. The more he laid with the better his high. She shook her head, turning towards a house, and stepping inside, fearful of every shadow as she did so, hearing the floorboards creak beneath her dainty weight. She nearly shook with the force of her panic and fear, and as she proceeded further into the house, ears flat against her head, tail between her legs, gaze on the floor in front of her paws, she didn’t think to check for any other presence. Thus when she padded into the kitchen, she nearly screamed when she saw the ebony furred male by the cupboards. Freezing, the Icelandic Sheepdog fae began to quiver, normally fiery gaze turned submissive by the past events of the day and she averted her gaze, backing up only to find her back against the wall. In her stupidity she had turned and thus when backing up got to where she was at the moment.

The patter of paws smaller than his own alerted him to unexpected company, and he lifted his head from his search to watch as a pretty female entered the kitchen.
She seemed truely and utterly shocked as her chocolate brown gaze fell upon his figure, and she had suddenly backed up against the wall.
Kage's brows furrowed together with both confusion and concern. She seemed terrified of something, but of what he did not know. Was she frightened of him, perhaps?
He turned to the female and lowered his head, gesturing that he would not harm her. His scarlet gaze lowered to her dainty paws to reassure her safety.
"Hey there, Miss," The ebony sire greeted in a light, airy tone. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" |

She does, "she speaks" Sitka watched the ebony furred male warily, her tail curling and uncurling nervously, his head lifting to watch her. He appeared confused, and oddly, concerned as he brows furrowed together. She didn’t relax, and even tensed further when he turned to her, lowering his head in a gesture meant to convey his peacefulness. She watched, her spicy gaze curious as she met his scarlet gaze before he lowered his to her dainty paws. Siti straightened slowly, though remained against the wall, her gaze wary, unsure. She was utterly unsure as to whether to trust this male’s intentions. "Hey there, Miss," He said lightly, airily. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" And the Icelandic Sheepdog watched him, seeming to relax further. ”I’m sorry, I just thought you were someone else.” She said softly, her gaze lowered to show her submission as she watched the floor between her paws.

The female seemed tense and rather afraid, and this only concerned the obsidian male further. What on Earth had happened to frighten her so? How dare it happen? Was there anything he could do to lessen the worst of what had happened? He doubted it, really, but that did not mean he would not try.
”I’m sorry, I just thought you were someone else.” Someone he could teach a lesson, perhaps? No, he dismissed the idea. That would not be wise, unless the brute who had scared her returned. Then fur would fly.
"You look like you've had quite a day," Kage observed, attempting to avoid sounding too sympathetic, as not to embarrass her. "Would you like something to eat?"
He gestured towards the kitchen cupboards and added, "I'm positive there's something in one of these cupboards, but the whole place reeks of food, so I'm not exactly certain where it is."

She does, "she speaks" Sitka looked over at the ebony furred male and straightened further, deciding that she wasn’t going to cower any longer, and thus stood at her full height, her tail leaving from between her legs to curl over her back, swishing slightly against her creamy pelt. Tilting her head slightly, watching him with curiosity and interest. Those eyes….she had never seen eyes like those on another canine. And whereas she would have imagined their crimson depths would give a sinister quality to his image, she found they didn’t. "You look like you've had quite a day," He observed, and she briefly thought of sarcastically applauding his observation skills, but dismissed it just as quickly, not wanting to get on the wrong side of yet another male.”It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve managed.” She said indifferently and sat back on her haunches, her spicy gaze on him. "Would you like something to eat?" He asked, gesturing towards the cupboards before adding, "I'm positive there's something in one of these cupboards, but the whole place reeks of food, so I'm not exactly certain where it is." Siti smiled, eyes sparkling with their normal radiance, amusement intertwining within. ”Now there is an offer I can’t refuse.” She said, flashing the male a bright smile before padding to the cupboards in mention, nosing the doors open and in some cases poking her head in to look around. Coming back out with a bag of beef jerky, as of yet unopened, she nipped the bag open and smiled happily, tail wagging. Opening the bag further, she smiled over at the male and then laughed a bit. ”I’m sorry, silly me, forgetting to introduce myself. I’m Sitka.”
